Fluoxetine Transdermal Gel/Cream (Compounded)
This compounded fluoxetine transdermal gel/cream is prepared for cats (and dogs) requiring individualized anxiety management without oral medication. Fluoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) prescribed under veterinary direction for the treatment of anxiety disorders, compulsive behaviors, and certain aggression issues. The transdermal formulation is applied to the skin — typically the inner ear pinna — and is suited to pets that are difficult to medicate orally. Can be compounded in gel or cream formulation with easy application tool.
Main Uses
- For the management of anxiety disorders in cats and dogs, including separation anxiety, as directed by a veterinarian.
- Transdermal application for pets that resist oral medication.
- May be used for compulsive disorders and certain behavioral issues as part of a behavior modification plan.
- Custom concentrations available by veterinary prescription — please submit an inquiry for specific needs.
Fluoxetine is a prescription medication used under ongoing veterinary supervision, typically alongside behavioral modification. Full effect may take several weeks.
