Isaderm Gel Main Uses

  • Prescription topical medication for dogs.
  • Used to treat superficial bacterial skin infections, including acute moist dermatitis commonly known as “hot spots.”
  • Also indicated for intertrigo, or bacterial skin-fold dermatitis.
  • Combines an antibiotic with a corticosteroid to control susceptible bacterial infection while reducing inflammation and itching.

Isaderm Gel Active Ingredients

Each gram contains:

  • Fusidic acid 5 mg, supplied as fusidic acid hemihydrate
  • Betamethasone 1 mg, supplied as betamethasone 17-valerate

Fusidic acid is a topical antibiotic with activity against susceptible bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus species commonly associated with canine superficial pyoderma.

Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness and itching.

Directions for Use

  • Apply a sufficient amount to the affected area twice daily for 5–7 days, or as directed by your veterinarian.
  • Massage the gel gently into the affected skin.
  • Prevent the dog from licking the treated area until the gel has dried.
  • Complete the full course prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • Contact your veterinarian if the condition has not started to improve within three days or if it worsens.

Isaderm Gel Safety and Precautions

  • For topical use in dogs only.
  • Do not use in pregnant dogs.
  • Do not use for deep skin infections, fungal infections or on a corneal ulcer.
  • Avoid prolonged treatment and application over large areas.
  • Avoid contact with the dog’s eyes and the person applying the medication.
  • Do not allow the dog to ingest the gel.
  • Prolonged or extensive corticosteroid use may cause skin thinning, delayed wound healing, suppression of local immune responses or systemic corticosteroid effects.
  • Discontinue use and contact your veterinarian if irritation or hypersensitivity develops.
  • Wash hands thoroughly after application.
  • Keep out of reach of children and other animals.
